The City

 - The city of Porto is known as the Capital City of the North or "The Invicta". It is the town that gave the name to Portugal - very early (c. 200 BC) it was designated of Portus.Then later has become the capital of the country Portugal, or Portucale (kingdom who gave his name to Portugal). It is therefore one of the oldest cities and one of the oldest names in the world.
It is also a city known worldwide for its wines, its bridges, old and contemporary architecture, its historical center, classified as World Heritage by UNESCO, and its football club - FC Porto.

The city is very rich in culture, from Douro river to the table where prevails a very rich and varied gastronomy. An absolute must is the port wine cellars, famed throughout the world, or for example the tower of the clergy, Clérigos.
